Vintage Ozzy Osbourne Retirement Sucks Tour’96

This rare vintage 1996 Ozzy Osbourne “Retirement Sucks” tour shirt is a self-deprecating tribute to the singer’s famously short-lived first “retirement”. After an incorrect multiple sclerosis diagnosis led him to launch the “No More Tours” farewell trek in 1992—a pun on his No More Tears album—Ozzy quickly grew bored and returned to the stage in late 1995 to support his Ozzmosis album. The 1996 tour dates listed on the back, covering a heavy North American itinerary from April to May, featured a new powerhouse lineup including former Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin, future Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, and guitarist Joe Holmes. These shows are historically significant as they preceded the inaugural Ozzfest, which was launched later that year after Ozzy was famously rejected by the Lollapalooza festival, ultimately revitalizing his career for a new generation.
