Vintage Fugazi Punk 90s
Rp12.000.000
This shirt is a classic piece of “anti-merchandise” with a legendary backstory in the underground punk scene. It perfectly captures the DIY ethics of the Washington D.C. band Fugazi. Since the band wouldn’t make merch, a fan named Cynthia Connolly created this design in the late 1980s. It was a tongue-in-cheek nod to René Magritte’s famous “This is not a pipe” painting (The Treachery of Images). Unlike most bands who would sue over bootlegs, Fugazi (specifically frontman Ian MacKaye) actually appreciated the irony. They didn’t stop people from making or selling them, provided they weren’t being sold for corporate profit.
